30-Day Trial Available for World's Only Motorized
Portable Fire Hose Rollers
Deschutes River Manufacturing Offers No-Obligation Tryout
of The Rookie Sidekick Line

BEND, Ore. – Deschutes River
Manufacturing, creator of the world's only portable
motorized fire hose rollers, has introduced a 30-day trial
program for firefighting professionals to tryout The Rookie
Sidekick hose rollers and The Rookie Reloader. Wildland,
municipal and industrial fire suppression organizations
pay only the cost of shipping the equipment and may put
it through the paces without any obligation to buy.

Carolina V.F.D., explains why his department purchased
The Rookie Sidekick 5-inch Gas LDH after participating
in the 30-day trial program: “The first time we
used The Rookie I had no question that this was a piece
of equipment our department needed. The Rookie hose roller
is great when you are dealing with long hose lays and
hose tests. It's helpful in both the manpower issues
and just plain time issues that most departments face.”
Products available for the 30-day trial program include
The Rookie Sidekick, The Rookie Sidekick LDH (5- and 6-inch
models), the new Rookie Sidekick AIO and the companion
Rookie Reloader. All Sidekick models are available with
either a Honda gas engine or Baldor electric motor. Larger
electric models feature variable-speed controls.
The Rookie was invented as the solution to backbreaking
hours of hand rolling and storing fire hose, saving manpower
and reducing the risk of injury on the scene or at the
station. The Rookie motorized hose rollers are now being
used by fire suppression agencies and firefighters from
Texas to Canada, including the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau
of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, power utilities,
municipal fire departments, and in the petroleum and chemical
industries.
Deschutes River Manufacturing's motorized hose rollers
have proven to be so useful the line has expanded to accommodate
a variety of hose sizes and fire suppression scenarios.
The Rookie Sidekick is a small, powerful motorized hose
roller with a direct drive system that requires minimal
effort to operate. It weighs less than 150 pounds, making
it ultra-portable and easy to mount on any vehicle trailer
hitch receiver or ATV rack.
The Rookie Sidekick LDH Series, which includes 5-inch
and 6-inch models, is specifically constructed to handle
large-diameter fire hose. It mounts on any hitch receiver,
making it portable, safe and easy to operate.
The Rookie Sidekick AIO (All-In-One), the newest in the
line-up, rolls up any size hose up to and including 6-inch
simply by moving two pins.
The Rookie Reloader is an optional re-loading rack that
transforms the portable stand into an efficient hose handling
system. The equipment allows firefighters to effortlessly
transport rolled hoses and it reduces the labor needed
to re-load hose back on to the engines.
The Rookie products are OHSA-inspected. All products can
be ordered directly from Deschutes River Manufacturing,
and the original Rookie units are available through the
GSA system (GSA orders do not qualify for the 30-day trial).
